- You are reading about an Egyptian pyramid. You press the picture of the pyramid and watch a video of an archaeologist leading a tour through that pyramid.
- A student of chemistry is struggling to balance an equation. S/he can press the symbols on the periodic table and interface with a web-based artificial intelligence (AI) tutor to assist with overcoming the deficiencies.
- The reader wants your podcast. The reader touches the podcast icon on the page to go out and grab the podcast from the publisher's website. The podcast is downloaded into a default music jukebox such as iTunes. The reader can then sync the podcast into an MP3 player such as an iPod and listen to the podcast on the road.
- Having received your music catalog in the mail, you sit at your computer and press pictures of the albums. You listen to a 30-second clip of each song you press. If you decide you like a song you press the 'buy now' TUI icon and purchase the song to load to your portable music device.
- A blind reader wants to hear the next chapter in the book instead of reading it all in Braille. By pressing the chapter title in Braille the reader is able to listen to the entire chapter.
- A hearing-impaired reader decides to have the biology lesson read via an ASL animator or presented in sub-caption. By pressing the page an animator pops up on the screen and signs the lesson.
- With a physical impairment, the user is able to press the pictures and words on the page with a head-mounted pointer or stylus.
- A teacher is required to modify the text and workbook for a student with an individualized education plan (IEP).
